Interviewer: How are you able to develop a cohesive team that embraces the importance of
teamwork?
Nurse: Having the nurses undertake activities that promote teamwork is the most effective way
of improving the aspect. Therefore, I ensure full utilization of nurses who encourage and
embrace team by involving them in decision making.
Interviewer: Once you have been able to develop the team and they are working together, how
do you ensure the cohesiveness lasts?
Nurse: Like any other strategy, the primary and most effective way of ensuring its continuity is
multiple practice and implementation. The nurses are to work as a team thrice every week with a
team leader who ensures records are kept to provide proof of the activities done. This approach
has been very effective in my profession.
Interviewer: What happens if the cohesiveness is broken, and what are the factors that lead to
the same?
Nurse: The main threat to teamwork is lack of communication and conflicts that arise in the
institution. Therefore, the organization has in place conflict resolution strategies that reduce
conflicts among the other nurses. Additionally, everyone in the team is expected to have
excellent communication skills and seek clarity where the need arises.
