• INTERVIEW AND INTERDISCIPLINARY ISSUE IDENTIFICATION 2 Interview and Interdisciplinary Issue Identification I interviewed a colleague nurse at our care facility concerning the rapid spread of COVID-19 among hospitalized patients and the health practitioners. She explained the rapid spread of this infectious disease is extensive among those health practitioners in the facility and the patients with weak immunity or other underlying health conditions. The alarming rapid spread of the virus demonstrated an urgent need to formulate strategies that would best control the situation as soon as possible. The health practitioners needed to strictly adhere to the existing standard precautions for the infectious virus. For the prevention of the spread, the standard precaution measures such as personal protective equipment, hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette, safe injection practices, proper medication storage and handling, frequent cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and device, use of medical masks are essential (Jordan, 2020).
