Introduction and Problem Identification Tremco is a manufacturer and distributor of protective coatings and sealants. Tremco’s Canadian operations are different from US operations as Tremco Canada sells and distributes a variety of consumer products, unlike Tremco USA. A few years ago, Tremco introduced a new line of product, an insulating spray foam, by becoming an exclusive distributor of a US based firm. Currently, there are four competitor products available in the market and Tremco’s brand, Mono Foam, is priced higher than most of the competitor products. Additionally, Mono Foam grew steadily for some time and after that the sales have remained constant for the last two years. Mono Foam’s competitor, Sista and Great Stuff, gained much exposure because they are available in Canadian Tire. Canadian Tire’s reluctance to place Mono Foam on its shelves is a big disadvantage for Tremco. Our team has pinpointed some issues with Mono Foam such as low consumer awareness, low market share, and a lagging adoption process, with the focus being on low market share. These issues will be considered in the following paragraphs.
