Case Study: Grandview Global Financial Services, Inc 1. What is the role of PM in establishing and maintaining corporate culture? Performance management plays a significant role in establishing and maintaining corporate culture. The PM process consist of three parts: performance planning, performance observation, and providing positive feedback and/or corrective feedback (Kavanagh, Thite & Johnson, 2012). The Grandview Global Financial Services has invested heavily in developing a uniform corporate culture but there are too many different systems being used in the other locations such as, nine different languages in 45 locations, different performance criteria, and different terms and conditions (Kavanagh, Thite & Johnson, 2012).The PM system must work in each geographic location Grandview Services need to strategize a plan where all locations are organized and the corporate culture is maintained. 2. What is the role of compensation and benefits in establishing and maintaining corporate culture? The compensation and benefit plan are incorporated into the Grandview Global Financial Services performance system. Corporate culture can be maintained and established by creating a well-thought plan that express the values and desires of the firm to employees in a clear message. The basic compensation system includes base pay, merit pay, short-term and long-term incentives, perquisites, recognition awards, and attraction or retention awards (Kavanagh, Thite & Johnson, 2012). The employees at this organization are compensated based off their job position, this can also be called as benchmarking. Market Benchmarking is used to price individual jobs and there is a midpoint for all jobs in each grade, and a range is built around that midpoint.
