1. What was the outcome?
I had the role of Zephyr and my partner had the role of Fredricos. Initially, I wanted to get
the full fleet of cars, the business, and the name from him for 1.15 million dollars. It was all I
was authorized to spend on this transaction. In the beginning of our negotiation, we both
went over what we were looking to get. I told him about the business Zephyr conducts in the
Midwest and that we had both houses and vehicles. He then said he wanted to move to
Chicago. This happened to be exactly where I owned houses. The houses I had were under
the value of the house Fredrico was planning on buying. My houses were also move in ready,
and the houses were owned outright by Zephyr. I offered Fredrico the sale of the house for
850,000 dollars with the potential to have a part time consulting gig to help take money off
the down payment. In exchange for this offer of the house, he offered to sell me the business
at a discounted rate. He originally wanted 1.5 million for the business, but with the offer for
the house mixed in I got the business for $1,092,000.
