1. Tyrell-Smith writes about both verbal and nonverbal mistakes that job candidates make in interviews. Select two nonverbal mistakes from the list and discuss the underlying message that an employer might receive from a candidate making these errors. From this list the first nonverbal mistake I choose was wearing uninspected clothes, i believe this is a main interview mistake people can make. How you come dressed to a interview is what the employer first sees of you, its how you are presenting yourself. If a person comes to a interview dressed in a way that shows sloppiness, unfit clothing, stained clothes, it gives off a image like the person does not care to show any seriousness about them selves off first hand. The second nonverbal mistake I choose was avoid being a copycat which I just had this experience, as I was on a hiring committee and the interviewee would move when I moved and follow my movement from body to eye movements. All I could say was that was a bit creepy and felt unoriginal from the person. 2. Do you believe that you could commit any of these nonverbal mistakes in interviews? Which ones? I do believe I could commit and have committed the last nonverbal mistake which was toughing it out, I have denied water, snacks and beverages from companies I have interviewed at and I never thought it was a bad thing. One because I had eaten before hand and most likely have just had a coffee. I do not see this is a mistake in my book as if a person is not hungry then do they still have to take something someone else can eat or drink? I do think this cue would determine if the interview was long and what environment it was in to be a deciding factor. As for the wearing uninspected clothes, this can be done by accidently staining your clothes before a interview easily but can be avoided by proper planning. 3. Based on th
