• You must not share this exam paper with anyone and must not discuss the contents
of this exam with anyone before 12:30pm, February 10, 2021.
• Sign the academic integrity statement on page 2 of this exam paper. Upload your
signed statement to the question labelled as ‘Sign’. A mark of zero will be graded
for a submission without the signed statement.
• Solutions must be handwritten on the space provided below each question or blank
sheets of paper of your own or a digital tablet and must be your own individual and
independent work. Any suspected cases of academic dishonesty will be reported to the
Math Academic Integrity Office for further investigation.
• Full solutions are required for this exam. The formulas and key intermediate steps used
for your calculations and solutions must be clearly presented.
• Only the calculators approved by the Faculty of Mathematics are allowed for this exam.
Any software and online calculators, such as Excel, R, MATLAB, and so on, are not
allowed for this exam.
• For numerical calculations in intermediate steps, round a numerical result to 3 or more
decimal places if the absolute value of this number is greater than one and to 6 or more
decimal places if the absolute value of this number is less than one.
• For the final answer of a question, round the final answer to 2 or more decimal places if
the absolute value of the answer is greater than one and to 5 or more decimal places if
the absolute value of the answer is less than one.
