Class location: IC 212 Course Description: This class covers the economics of the firm in a market environment. We will study firm behaviour and market performance as influenced by concentration, consumer behaviour, strategic decisions by rivals, and government policies. The course uses differential calculus extensively. Textbook: Modern Industrial Organization, by Carlton and Perloff, 4th Edition, Pearson/AddisonWesley. Please note that this textbook is suggested, but not required. Lecture Notes and Other Announcements: There will be limited use of slides in the course. I will primarily use the board during lectures, and you are expected to take notes. I will post additional course materials, including review sheets, on Blackboard.
