Abstract This report talks about the Man-in-the-Middle Attack which falls under the Security in Networks consisting of how to intercept the communication taking place in between two nodes in a Network. The tools used for the performing an attack are Ettercap, Driftnet, Wireshark and GNS3 (Graphical Network Simulation) were working topology is designed. Furthermore, this report provides ideas on preventing ourselves as well as our organizations on avoiding from such attacks as well as recommends how to mitigate those attacks. The demonstration of the Man-in-the-middle attack is shown in the report with the significant screenshot captured while performing the attack. The mitigation for this attack was secured by creating VLANs and setting them to particular interfaces also the procedure of mitigation is evaluated with its advantages and disadvantages.
