A nursing theory that has influenced my values and goals is Madeleine Leininger’s Culture Care Theory. 1. Explain how nurses apply the identified theory from part A to implement excellent nursing practices. Nurses apply this theory by understanding that within different cultures, there are different values, beliefs, and patterns of behaviors. By understanding this, nurses are able to provide care that is tailored to the respective cultures that they are caring for which leads to overall patient satisfaction. 2. Our patient population is very diverse in culture. This theory fits into my professional practice because I am able to identify different cultures with respect to nursing and provide more meaningful and efficient nursing care according to their cultural values, beliefs and practices.
