Florence Nightingale’s theory focuses on nursing standards, such as a patient’s environment and its effects on the patient’s recovery. Nightingale believed the patients need cleanliness, correct nutrition, positive attitudes, proper lighting, and also decreased noise levels (Cherry DNSc MBA RN NEA-BC, Barbara & Jacob, 2018) How nurses apply the identified theory to implement excellent nursing practices Nightingale’s theory is applied to implement excellence in nursing practice daily, and it is the foundation of nursing. We have hospital cleanliness standards, the proper procedure for sterile, and clean procedures to avoid infection control. Patient’s nutrition in healthcare is enormous in factor the body’s homeostasis is directly affected appropriate nutrition. So much so we have figured out alternatives when needed—everything from multiple food and drink textures when trying to prevent choking. Nurses even give alternate forms of nutrition, different routes like intravenous, percutaneous, nasogastric when oral consumption isn’t possible. Nurses try to keep patients’ spirits up by giving good care, being compassionate, having empathy, and treating them as individual people. Hospitals have had noise reduction initiatives for years now as science has shown health benefits to both patients and nurses. Lighting is taken into account throughout medicine. Bright light is used when it is crucial for visual accuracy and dim light for rest and recovery.
