A nursing theory that has influenced my values and goals is Madeleine Leininger’s Culture Care Theory. 1. Nurses apply this theory by understanding that within different cultures, there are different values, beliefs, and patterns of behaviors. By understanding this, nurses are able to provide care that is tailored to the respective cultures that they are caring for which leads to overall patient satisfaction. 2. I work at a small community hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Our patient population is very diverse in culture.
