M05 Writing Project 2: Final Draf
Cover Letter
My purpose for this piece of writing is to analyze Sherry Turkle’s writing style to identify how
and why she chose to reach her intended audience. I will share my opinions with my classmates
on whether I believe this is the most effective method to get the point across. I intend to support
my findings and opinions with texts from the article. It is my belief that Turkle uses examples
and text that will appear to the young readers that she is trying to reach out to. Furthermore, in
my opinion Turkle wanted to express the importance and severity of the subject, so it was
imperative for the article to include examples that most young readers felt they could easily
relate to. I hope to be able to share my findings and help my audience better understand why the
article was written in the manner that it was. In order to do this in the best way possible, I chose
to make a few adjustments by correcting citations and adding in some more references to the
original article.
