Culture set of guidelines that are transmitted from one generation to another within a certain group of people, by means of its rituals, symbols and language. Plays a role in how people from different cultural groups may have differing experiences and understandings of the same illness. Culture Failure to understand and respect individuals and their cultures can hinder pharmaceutical care. Misunderstandings, confusion & drug misadventures can be the result if beliefs & expectations between the patient and the pharmacist are different. the ability of providers and organizations to effectively deliver health care services that meet the social, cultural, and linguistic needs of patients. A culturally competent health care system improve health outcomes, quality of care, and contribute to the elimination of racial and ethnic health disparities.
