The land was home to indigenous group Dumagat, Tagal, Indians and Aetas. The lush virgin forests with varied tropical forests were also nests to a wildlife biodiversity. The rich water tables gushed forth as springs and waterfalls. According to folklores, it was also said that on its branches that the image of Virgin of Antipolo (Our Lady of the Good Voyage) was found after it disappeared many times at Sitio Sta. Cruz where it was first bought (Mr. Bienvenido M Alarcon, City’s Historian).
