Not every kind of negative affect rises aggression
when people become disgusted they become less
aggressive.
Biology and aggression
Agression is related to testosterone.
Experiment:Subjcts who given testosterone are
more aggressive.
Culture and aggression
South of US are more aggressive than the North.
One factor that distinguishes btw more and less
violent nations is gender equality.
- Cooperation: is behaviour by two or more ind that
leads to mutual benefit.
Risk and Trust
Cooperation s benefitial but also risky like Prisoners
dilemma game.
The ultimatum game:One offers another, the other
accept or reject the offer. If decider feel that this

Groups and Favorism
Group:a collection of people who have sth in
common.
Prejudice:positive or negative evaluation of another
person based on group membership.
Discrimination:pos or negative behaviour toward
another group person based on their group
membership.
Common knowledge effect:tendency for group
discussions to focus on info that al members have.
Group polarization:tendency for groups to make
decisions that are more extreme than any member
would have made alone.
Groupthink: tendency for groups to reach a
consensus in order to facilitate interpersonel
harmony.
Dei Deindividuation:occurs when immersion in a
group causes people to be less concerned with
their personal values.
Diffusion of responsibility:feeling diminished
responsibility in a group.
Social Loaf: people expend less effort whe in a
group.
Bystander Interventıon:the act of helping
strangers in an emergency.

oneself.
Kin selection:evolution selects for ind who
cooperate with their relatives.
Reciprocal altruism: benefits another with the
expectation that those benefits return in the
future.

Women are more selective than men. Bc they
have more costs(smaller number of eggs)
However, culture can shape this selectivity.
Attraction
a)Situational factors: The physical proximity

The mere exposure effect:liking you are familiar
with.(frequency of exposure should be a lot)
