Introduction
Globalization has been a driving force for businesses in the 21st century with competition
increasing as the movement of people and goods is made easier. The increased information
access, especially over the internet, has also allowed consumers to have cheap and faster access
to supply chain information. Offering them an opportunity to compare prices and make purchase
decisions. The impact on firms has been an increased need to innovate and improve
management practices, to remain competitive and to gain a higher market share and customer
loyalty.
Supply chain management is one of the areas that require effectiveness and efficiency.
Especially if firms want to succeed and compete in a more effective manner. One of the
companies that have shown effective management and utilization of an efficient supply chain
techniques is a company be the name of Tesco. This paper seeks to develop an understanding of
the manner in which Tesco utilizes its supply chain management systems in order to get its
