Environmental Act 107 of 1998 3. 2 PURPOSE The Purpose is ensuring that, in accordance to the National Environmental Act No. 107 of 1998 (NEMA), suitable and sustainable measures are in place to reduce our environmental impact and improve our environmental performance as an integral part of the business and operating strategy. 3 SCOPE This policy applies to all employees, volunteers, contractors and visitors on the company’s premises. This policy will also be enforced on all employee’s, contractors and accompanied visitors on any client’s company premises. 4 OBJECTIVE The objective of this policy is to provide an Environmental Management Standard which will eliminate, mitigate, or control the aspects and impacts of the environment within the workplace. This policy is intended to ensure that management, employees, contractors, visitors and the public are always in full compliance to all South African Environmental legislation and all the applicable International Environmental standards and good practices. 5 RESPONSIBILITIES Without derogating from the 16(1)’s liability for environmental issues, the Section 16(2) appointee may be given the overall responsibility and authority to ensure that in regard to environmental issues, the Incident Reporting and Investigation procedure is defined, documented, and implemented for all employees, contractors and visitors during daily tasks, services of delivery, installation, equipment, onsite maintenance and support of the clients.
