I selected these 5 items from my independent novel portfolio to be graded specifically because they were the most that showed an increase in my understanding. Unit 1, Part 1: (Pg. 1) I choose this item because I found reading methods to be quite helpful when I was reading. I can now relate the writer's points to my previous experiences and understand them better. This item demonstrates a shift in my reading habits. I aim to employ a number of strategies before, during, and after reading to improve my reading efficiency so that I can comprehend what I have read. This example demonstrates how course material was applied. Reading techniques and how to become an effective reader were covered in unit 1.2. Every time I get stuck or need to refresh my memory, I go back to that lesson. Unit 1, Part 2: (Pg. 2) This task demonstrates an improvement in knowledge and the use of course material.
