1. Usually, we look for surprises in stories. What did you predict would happen to Tom and his wife? Did any particular detail or event in the story surprise or shock you? Explain Actually I am not surprised that Tom’s wife had disappeared, although I didn’t really expect him to be as ‘money-hungry’ or greedy as she was. I was partly shocked that Tom had found his wife’s heart and liver in the apron instead of his silver, however, I was also a bit shocked that Tom didn’t really mind that he had found her organs in her own apron. Although the ending of what had happened to Tom and his wife was not very surprising, especially considering both of their characters. 2. Mrs. Tom Walker is a stereotype of the nagging wife; still a source of comedy today. What character traits are represented by Tom? Why do you think Mrs. Walker met with such a nasty end?
