•  Ability to recognize the major functional groups in chemical compounds.  Ability to write the names of simple biological compounds using the IUPAC system.  Ability to draw structures of chemical compounds accurately.  Ability to categorize chemical reactions by type.  Ability to write and recognize the mechanisms of simple organic reactions.  Ability to recognize and draw the structures and functions of the main classes of biomolecules.
