• Abstract A differential amplifier was built in this assignment. It was found that the differential amplifier amplifies the difference between two input voltages but suppresses any voltage common to its two inputs. The input signal is separated into two components, its differential-mode, and common-mode. In order to bias the amplifier, resistors needed to be added. Optimum voltage swing biasing was important due to our desire for amplification. Objective The purpose of a differential amplifier is to amplify the difference between two given signals. As such, the purpose of this lab was to understand how to separate the I/O of the differential amplifier into two distinct components. These signals then reduce noise, allowing only amplification of the differential signal. The common-mode rejection ratio allows us to see the gain with respect to both the common mode and differential mode gains
