PHIL 1273 Handout: Exam 2 Study Guide
Scope: You are responsible for everything that we have covered between Exam 1 and now, in
both the readings and class.
Materials: You will only need to bring something to write with. I have included 3 full pages at the
end of the exam on which you will write your essay response.
Format: The exam will have two (2) sections - objective questions and an essay question. The
objective section will be worth 50% of the grade and the essay section worth 50% of the grade.
- The objective section will include multiple choice and true false questions..
- The essay section will consist of one (1) essay. The actual test questions will be drawn from the
study questions below. Two (2) of those questions, drawn at random, will be on the exam and
you will choose one (1) of those two (2) to write on.
Since you will have the essay questions beforehand, I expect thought-out, well-organized
answers. I don’t expect “perfect” answers here. Rather, I want to know what you think, but much
more importantly, I want to know why you think that way. As long as I can understand what you
say, spelling, grammar, and even stylistic errors will be forgiven. Study hint: outline answers to
(all but one of) the study questions before the exam.
