• The shard building, the tallest building in London, has very significant drawbacks to the environment. For starters, the tall building blocks sunlight from the sun's rays by casting a shadow on the adjacent side. Therefore, the Shard is a significant stumbling block as vegetation cannot survive in the areas near the shard building. With limited vegetation or crop life, the environmental prospect of the area surrounding the building is at very high risk. Rainfall, for example, is limited, and for the few times it decides to pour, it turns out destructive and fatal. Also, tall buildings such as the Shard produce unpropitious effects on the microclimate area around the shard building. These drawbacks are caused by wind tunneling; for example, Wind tunneling is whereby, between two tall buildings, the air is compressed on the windy side of the building, thus increasing the speed of the wind between the two tall infrastructures. Additionally, it causes nuisance value for pedestrians or other personnel at the base of the building. Furthermore, tall buildings like the Shard have very high rates of polluting the environment. According to "Abbaspour and Behjo, 2000", the level of carbon monoxide increases from the bottom part of the building up to around the sixth and the ninth floor. The pollution is due to the high wind speed in the upper sections of the infrastructure framework, which causes a reduction in pollution intensity. However, the volume of pollution differs even on the apex of these tall buildings due to local winds and eddy currents around the structure, causing accumulation of pollution in various sections. The Shard building also impacts generation "Z' greatly. Generation "Z" can be roughly described as millennials. Generation Z includes anyone born between 1995 and 2012. First and foremost, it is clear that "Generation Z" primarily relies on technological advancement to run their day-to-day activities and errands.
