Numerous connections exist between the main ideas of the two articles and the main
ideas that Rick Bass presents in his book of the Yaak. After examining the three pieces, there
were many indications that all these writings converge about the main point which is the need for
the human to protect and preserve the wildlife. Although there exist policies and procedures
which are meant to protect the wildlife, the three articles insist that there is something more, we
as a society ought to be doing about wildlife protection. In, The Book of Yaak, it is evident that
the author, Rick Bass is unwavering about seeking help to save the Yaak. The second reading is
the article “Balancing Preservation and Logging: Public Lands Policy in British Columbia and
the Western United States,” which has been written by Gary Brynner. The article gives us a
detailed account of all the procedures and policies that have been put in place to help save the
wildlife against clear-cut logging. The final reading is, “Wolves, Lies, & logging: racing to save
endangered Caribou and stop the wolf cull,” by Elizabeth Claire Alberts. The article is about how
the timber logging and the wolf cull were affecting lives of an endangered species of Mountain
Caribou. Each of these reading is connected to each other, and they all converge towards the
efforts of protecting the wildlife and the endangered species against human activity
