by this client?
Her psychiatric symptoms included mainly bizarre
behavior, delusions, and impaired social functioning.
The schizoaffective disorder was of the bipolar type, so
she was experiencing episodes of mania. Her Broset
Violence Checklist (BVC) score was a 3, as she was
confused, irritable, and boisterous.
Describe any issues of comorbidity that exist within this
client’s profile and discuss how
these conditions impact one
another.
The patient has issues of concurrent comorbidity, as her
schizoaffective disorder and mood disorder can increase
the risk of an addiction to substances. Also, her use of
drugs can induce psychotic episodes. In addition, her
housing issues caused a lack of sleep which can
exacerbate symptoms of delusion.
