"Of Blood and Fire" is written by Jahanara Imam, and it's written in an
autobiographical manner. It is a personal diary in which the stories of the liberation
war are recorded. Jahanara Imam is famously known as "Shaheed Janani" for
sacrificing her son for the sake of Bangladesh's war of independence, especially
after the publication of her book "Ekattorer Dinguli"."Shaheed Janani" means the
mother of a martyr. Additionally, she lost her husband due to the war
of.Independence. The book "Of Blood and Fire" is a translation from "Ekattorer
Dinguli" which was published in 1986 (Tithi,2017). And the translation version
was published in 1990 which was translated by Mustafizur Rahman. Shafi, her
younger son, was a survivor of the terror and could fill her in on more details later.
According to the Imam who is the son of the writer Jahanara Imam; an
overwhelming request to publish the journal as a book led to the publication of this
book. This book focuses on the war of liberation. This book depicts valor, dread,
and hope. The unique setting presented in this novel allows readers to see the
liberation war from a female perspective. In patriarchal societies, women face
repression, which makes it difficult for them to find a voice and a presence in the
