INTRO
The book "the home and the world" was written by Rabindranath Tagore. This book was
published in 1916. It is an autobiography of Rabindranath Tagore himself, where he upholds his
torn situation between the ideas of western and traditional and the freedom movement against
colonials. By portraying the situation of Nikhils, Sandip, and Bimala's characters.
Author
The book by Rabindranath Tagore is another brilliance of "Ghore Baire" or "The Home and The
World," where he presents his torn situation and the historical context of that time. Regarding
Bengali literature, none of Rabindranath Tagore's works can be compared to any others. In the
annals of literary history, the first Bangla author was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Rabindranath Tagore's writing is based on the principle that a concept must be presented
artistically. Rabindranath Tagore was a multi-talented artist who not only wrote but also
composed, dabbled in philosophy, worked for social reform, and was involved in the visual arts.
Context
The novel depicts the author's struggle between political and conventional views. The 1900s also
saw the INC's National Independence Movement. It was ending British colonial control involved
violence and peace. Nationalists appreciate Swadeshi. Partition in 1905 sparked Swadeshi.
Successful anticolonial campaign Swadeshi. It encouraged independence. British hostility
increased after Indian independence. Colonization. Subcontinental nationalism and the 1900
Punjab Land Alienation Act propelled Swadeshi. Bengal 1905 was crucial. "Divide and rule"
