BIO153 Assignment 2 – Building The Story Part 1: References: 1. McKinney – This article is a secondary source as the title of the article is “Effects of urbanization on species richness: A review of plants and animals.” A review is a secondary source which interprets and evaluates the information that is found on a primary source. 2. Resasco, and by – This article is a secondary source as the title of the article is “Metaanalysis on a Decade of Testing Corridor Efficacy: What New Have we Learned?” A meta-analysis is a secondary source where a statistical analysis combines the results of many scientific studies 3. Tewksbury et al. – This article is a primary source as the title of the article is “Corridors affect plants, animals, and their interactions in fragmented landscapes” and it contains its own original research. Part 2: I. Was the Paragraph Easy to Read? In my opinion I found that the text was relatively easy to read. II. Why Was the Paragraph Easy to Read? I found that the paragraph was easy to read because it the authors made sure that the information that was presented to the reader was clear and concise. That allowed the reader to easily follow through the reading and understand the information being presented to them. The transition words used within the paragraph also played a major part in how easy it was to read this paragraph because it provided a link between ideas that were mentioned earlier in the paragraph to the information that is presently being provided while reading. III. Techniques The first paragraph on the second page is improved by the writers use of two techniques 1. Transitional words: The writers used transitional words like "Moreover" and "Furthermore" to connect the ideas from the previous paragraph to the one that follows. These linking words help to provide a logical flow of thoughts, making it easier for the reader to understand the writers
