1.0. Introduction For the past two decades, the reading habits among Malaysians have changed drastically. As the world that we’re living in right now has provided us with a better technological necessity, it is a norm for society to replace their reading habit to more advanced options such as the internet which could provide podcasts and websites as a source or platform to gain new information. Beside gaining their knowledge through websites and social media on the internet, a lot of readers now have also been introduced to e-books, which are known to be another alternative form of reading in today’s generation. An e-book comprises a digital body primarily of text with a defined scope. E-books can effectively support an academic mission by saving time, adding value as a collective online reference, and enabling dynamic and cost-effective collection management (Cox, 2004). According to Lee (2002), an e-book is defined as an electronic representation of a book, usually a parallel publication of print copy, but occasionally born digital. With the arrival of e-book in the publishing industry in this 21st century, does the pattern of e-book usage in Malaysia show a significant difference between physical books? Thus, this case study will disclose the type of pattern of e-book in Malaysia in more depth
