Discuss the technical definition of a mechanical chain for power transmission. - A chain drive is a mechanical power transfer mechanism that transfers mechanical power from one location to another. It's widely used to move power to a vehicle's wheels, particularly on bicycles and motorcycles. Aside from automobiles, it can be used in a variety of other machines. A roller chain, also known as a drive chain or transmission chain, is used to transfer force over a sprocket gear, with the teeth of the gear meshing with the gaps in the chain's links. As the gear rotates, it pulls the string, giving the machine more mechanical strength. Rotating the chain gives leverage, and is then used to lift or drag objects.
