02.03 Muscle Contraction Model: I would use two different color ropes. One frayed to represent the myosin and one regular. I would twist them together to create a singular model for sliding filament theory. Description: First the calcium ions are released by sarcoplasmic reticulum into the sarcoplasm. Next the ATP releases energy and the head of the myosin. The calcium ions then bind to troponin showing the binding site. The myosin head connects to the binding site (actin filament) and forms a cross bridge. The actin filament is pulled into the center of the sarcomere. The ATP molecule then reattaches to the binding site on the myosin head. The myosin head is disconnected from the actin fila
